Insurance Coverage for Lactation/Feeding Care
As of January 2025, ILC is now able to bill several insurance providers in-network! Please complete our insurance-based appointment request form so that we can verify coverage for you:
Integrative Lactation Care is in-network with the following insurance companies:
- Aetna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (select plans only)
- Cigna
- Tricare
- United
Please note that in-network coverage does not guarantee zero cost. Unfortunately, while this premise is sometimes promoted by other lactation billers/groups, it is not an authentic representation of how billing for lactation care actually works in the United States.
That said, many insurers do cover lactation care in full or close to full! I am happy to help you verify your plan’s coverage & understand any expected out-of-pocket costs upfront. The majority of my clients pay $40 or less per visit, and many pay $0.
What if my insurance company is not listed above?
- Accessible lactation care is a core value of mine, and my goal is to never let ability to pay stand in the way of receiving excellent care.
- For families whose plans do not cover lactation care with ILC:
- You have the option to pay out of pocket, and receive a superbill (an itemized receipt) to submit to your insurance company. ILC is happy to walk you through this process as part of your care. Many clients are able to achieve partial or full reimbursement.
- You can pay for care using HSA/FSA funds (and receive a superbill).
- Non-covered families are also welcome to apply for sliding scale regardless of income.
